Gargamel had captured 100 of the smurfs. He is going to kill them in the next morning. However, he is in the mood for games. So he told the smurfs, “I will let all of you go if you are able to answer a simple question.”
The smurfs are baffled. Gargamel explained, “All of you will blindfolded and be given a hat to wear in the morning tomorrow. It will either be a black or white hat. All of you will be lining up in a straight line facing the back of each other and we will remove the blindfold.

*imagine these are smurfs lah~ =P*So the 1st guy will not be able to see anyone. But the last guy will be able to see all. You will not be able to see your own hat but you can see the hats in front of you. I will then release any of the smurf who can tell me the colour of his hat. Muahahaha!”
The smurfs are devastated… How can it be possible to know the colour of their own hats when they can’t see theirs but is able to see those in front?
Gargamel then said," Anyone would be able to answer at anytime but the only words that can come out of his mouth can either be black or white. Anyone other words and he will be killed.”
With that, the smurfs are left alone to discuss among themselves for the night.
